A Real Holographic Suite

Identify three to five metrics that I consider most important for measuring the development process for the HYPERVSN Immersive Holographic Suite Project. I researched the topic of “metrics for measuring the development process” and found an exhaustive resources. However first I had to identify the development processes/ requirements I had proposed from my milestone one for the suite to be measured which are; Interaction: Customers can step inside the holographic image, which adapts in real time to their movements, users must actually feel the products they’re looking at, like feeling the fabric of a shirt before buying it, and voice command, the customer must be able to change items using verbal commands. These core requirements crafted my final proposal of a three-partner consortium of HYPERVSN, Euclideon, and Ultraleap.

The first metric I consider to be important is team velocity which is a metric used to measure a product, development and design team’s delivery speed for a given cycle. Agile teams typically calculate the velocity at the end of a sprint or iteration(23 product metrics mapped to product life cycle: Pragmatic 2024) . Because of the three companies working on the project various feature or parts of the project would have to be assigned to special groups and precision, alignment, and coordination would have to be tailored for local and international teams. Team velocity measurements would be used to estimate future work and planning of the suite.

A second metric is defect density which is the number of defects, issues, or bugs in your product’s code divided by the size or complexity of the codebase(Atlassian, 2026). The algorithms to accept prompts for the voice commands I assume would be AI driven and testing of the language models would have to be done for input results.

Another metrics is Quality of Product Design; This KPI evaluates the quality of the product design based on factors such as functionality, usability, reliability, and adherence to specifications. It can be measured through customer feedback, testing results, or adherence to design standards. This metrics relates to the finished product in its entirety. Exploring a new product that has never been done before puts the consortium at a unique position not only become a domain design but to revolutionize the industry.

Lastly another metric is Product-Market Fit Criteria;Product market fit is how well you can serve the target customers or target users with the solutions that you have built. The earliest indicator of product-market fit is engagement(23 product metrics mapped to product life cycle: Pragmatic 2024). In a real world scenario this metric would apply, but with a holographic room that can be from an Aldous Huxley novel we have to think outside the box. Where would this suite be at? In a mall the stores to feel a shirt are already there. In a futuristic home then the clothes could be transmitted for people to “try on” in their hologram suites to target customers or users. You never know, right! If you told someone 100 years ago that in the future we’d be talking with our thumbs they would have laughed at you.
